Massachusetts Hockey Acceleration Program

EACH SESSION INCLUDES A 3 PRONGED TEACHING STRATEGY

  • DYNAMIC WARM-UP
  • BLADEMILL/SYNTHETIC ICE TRAINING
  • SPEED, AGILITY, QUICKNESS, & SKILLS TRAINING

DYNAMIC WARM-UP: Certified strength and conditioning instructor will lead the students through a series of focused sport specific exercises.

BLADEMILL/SYNTHETIC ICE TRAINING: Students will be lead through a series of interactive drills that focus on their skating and skill. The BladeMill session will focus on skating acceleration, proper stride development, and puck control, stick handling skills, passing skills and shooting technique. The synthetic ice training will focus on tight area skill development, proper checking technique, shooting technique and form. Video analysis is used extensively as a teaching aid throughout the program to enhance the student experience. We also introduce real ice into the program starting July 11th.

SPEED, AGILITY, QUICKNESS AND SKILLS TRAINING: Off-Ice Training: To maximize their effectiveness on-ice, players will participate in a rigorous off-ice training program with certified strength and conditioning coaches provided by CATZ. The CATZ coach will guide them through hockey specific exercises to improve their strength, speed, agility, balance and overall athleticism. Players will become quicker and more explosive while building endurance and preparing their bodies for the game of hockey. The program will also help reduce the risk of injuries by teaching the players proper warm up techniques and by strengthening their muscle groups in a dynamic manner.
